The people of Rattanakiri, Cambodia, are facing numerous novel eco-social challenges- such as illegal logging, deforestation, illegal mining exploration, and illegal fishing or water pollution from hydropower dam construction.
Oxfam’s local partner in Cambodia- MEDIA ONE has produced a series of radio programmes to educate and inform local peoples on these novel environmental and social, helping them find their own solutions.
MEDIA ONE has established 30 listening clubs in 21 villages and this year it has created other 20 more clubs in 5 villages. Each group contains 10 to 15 members that are mostly youth and women. It has also trained 24 youth community reporters in 14 villagers with the capacity to produce between 10 to 15 stories per year.
