Mining Our Roots

NAPE Uganda explores the current and future threats Ugandan ecosystems and communities face due to the expansion of mining activities in the nation.

Testimony from the communities of Osukuru, Hoima, Tororo and Kasese reveals how mining for oil and sand are disrupting water systems, food sovereignty practices and undermining sacred natural sites. The cumulative impact is that the ecosystems the people and all species rely upon are being destabilised after generations of delicate care.
